Arigato
Jeremy Piven is not a common household name. Some trivia lovers might recognise him, but rest of the people could probably identify him by the name of the character he played in the HBO series Entourage: Ari. That is not unusual, sometimes the roles people play outshine them. And the role of Ari was really strong and intense, and Jeremy fitted for the role of this shrewd, manipulative and shameless Hollywood agent to the T.
One reason why he did it so well could be his superb skill of uttering long dialogues in the same breath, he kind of rushes through it and takes the audience along with him. He admitted once, "From the get-go, I'd keep talking and never stop. Literally, I would take single lines and just keep going." But the more significant reason is very simple: he is a fine actor. He can surely play a variety of characters with ease and perfection. But the role he portrays best is the super-ambitious guy who would do anything to be successful. A similar role he played in was in "Two for the Money".
And some advice, see "Smokin' Aces", he is good in there, and don't see "Chasing Liberty", unless you are a Mandy Moore fan or you say "I love corny. I am looking for some corny in my life", in true "Holidays" way.
